Drusilla Williams completed her early training in Sydney , initially studying architecture. Since arriving in Perth she has worked as an interior designer and as a teacher, nevertheless also totally committed to her painting, often working late at night. Much influenced by the classicism of the Renaissance, especially the great woman painter Artemisia Gentileschi, her paintings are rich in colour and form, but also humour.

In this exhibition Drusilla pays homage to old masters and to the humble loaf, presenting art about art and art about tarts. And in a series of works she plays delightful games with a famous image by Phillip Cook's relative, Australian painter, William Delafield Cook, incorporating fruit, dolls, and a kangaroo on the iconic chesterfield sofa .
